11th Annual Golf Classic
The format for the tournament is a Scramble.
This format should be a lot of fun because everyone plays together as a team and [at least most of] your bad shots don’t count!
Below are some instructions for the day. Don’t worry – it isn’t all that complicated!
How to Play a Scramble
- Everyone in the foursome hits a drive. The team chooses the best one.
- Everyone places his or her ball at the location of the best drive and everyone hits a second shot. Again, the team chooses the best shot.
- This pattern continues until the ball is holed… so everyone always hits but only the team’s best shot is used.
THE FINE PRINT
In a foursome, you have to use everyone’s drive 3 times no such restrictions for second shots, etc
If you are a threesome instead of a foursome there are two alterations:
- You will always have a player hitting two shots on a hole.
- For example, on the first hole Player A will hit two drives, two second shots, etc. On the second hole, Player B will hit two drives, two second shots, etc.
- Rotate through the three players so Player A will also hit two shots on hole 4
- You have to use each players drive 5 times

NGSF is proud to announce the Eleventh Annual NGS Golf Classic to be held on Friday, October 12th, 2012 at Black Bear Golf Club in Franklin, NJ. An awards lunch at the Great Gorge Banquet facilities will also be held upon the completion of the Classic.
